What is ENAB ?

ENAB comes from European Anti-Bullying Network, and it is a network of people from all over the world who are fighting against bullying of all types and forms. This blog was created as a result of a training course called Art of Conflict Transformation - Initiative and Variety (ACTIV), the participants wanted to share all the information they received in the course and by creating ENAB, the fight against bullying can become a bit easier. With this platform, everyone can have access to methods, games or information on how to prevent or stop bullying.
In this project30 workers were involved from 6 organizations (two organizations from Romania, one from Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland and Macedonia) for 14 days. The project was based on the principle of gender equality and gender equality eliminating material and social differences, ethnicity, health. The basis of the seminar was gender equality and gender equality in access to information and adapted activities at their level and needs. In the workshop we worked in mixed and homogeneous teams to ensure cultural diversity and fight against discrimination, to increase the degree of acceptance of cultural differences and gender equality. All participants participated equally in all activities without taking into account language skills or other abilities.

ENAB contains information about the Bullying phenomenon and will benefit both partners and other interested persons that seek to diversify their non-formal education methods and to act as a resource for the implementation of ENF's own methods and instruments in combating and preventing bullying. All the methods that were used have an innovative approach and are
applicable in the context of this set of good practices, this means the ability to demonstrate what is unique in the initiative and offers opportunities for the initiative to be applied in other locations and contexts.

You can see some of the games that were created by the participants here and maybe you can give us some insight on how to improve our techniques or just tell us your opinion on this. The more people that become aware of this phenomenon the easier it will be for all of us to prevent and stop it.

Some interesting games

These are some of the games that the participants did together with their teammates after the first days of the training course. The participants are trying to create a game in which Psychodrama or the Espere method is used. They created the games in their native language and in English so that everyone can have access and use what they were taught. What do you think? Would you use it in your field of work? Can you give us some ideas on how to improve our games? or maybe you have a game idea you want to share with us.

More info about our project: skills we developed

The competencies we developed or improved from participating in the Art of Conflict Transformation Initiative and Variety (ACTIV) are as follow:

  • KNOWLEDGE
We now have increased knowledge of ENF use as possible intervention measures, in preventing and tackling the phenomenon of bullying through learning the three methods: - knowledge-sharing about anti-bullying policies at a European level through presentations made by us, the participants

A presentation made in the county library for teachers and not only

                                                                                                                      - knowledge and understanding skills related to the management of an Erasmus + project through active involvement in all stages of the project.

                                                                                                                        - acquiring knowledge and skills related to the use of modern means of communication, depending on the specific activities of creating DVD, guide, and NETWORKING. You can see some of the games and videos we made here, and maybe you can share with us your own ideas.
                                                                                                                        - a larger awareness network of what bullying is and its negative consequences on young people through CDM activities

  • ABILITIES
We developed the skills to use 3 NF methods (Psychodrama, Sociodrama, methods of Action and ESPERE) as intervention resources in combating and preventing bullying.

We improved our communication skills and relationships with people who speak another language, for example when the teams had to interact with each other and fulfill a task.
The Macedonian team discussing with the Romanian team

We developed skills in negotiation and conflict solving, teamwork and we also developed the skills to promote common values, cultural diversity, tolerance, respect and understanding different points of view to better comprehend what it means to be a European citizen.
Some other skills that we developed during the project are: the skills to think logically and draw correct conclusions, to perform and evaluate the learning process on our own and we improved our abilities to solve problems, make decisions and practice new roles.

  • ATTITUDES

We developed a respectful attitude towards cultural diversity, we built "bully-free" attitudes and skills and most of us improved our anger/conflict management. We also developed a positive attitude towards the learning process and increased our accountability in the report with it.
Recognizing toxic messages

  • COMPETENCES

            We developed competencies in solving the reported situations and we improved our communication skills in a foreign language, namely English. Moreover, we improved our social and civic competences, promoting conflict resolution and communication skills (in English and our mother tongue) as an alternative to aggressive behavior;
Most of us experienced and tried new options, we experimented with strategies and we tried to anticipate results, some of us developed competencies to evaluate others and also self-assess. We could also observe a growth in our self-confidence and in our creativity. Even more than that, our trainer and psychotherapist Irina Gruia empowered our spirit of initiative, our motivation for involvement, active participation, and continuous learning. You can see more pictures here.

Along with these values, we also acquired: collaboration, altruism, equality, respect, responsibility, solidarity, tolerance, fairness, integrity - as standards of social behavior derived from social interactions within the activities ENF, but which are not limited to them.
It is said that "IF YOU'RE NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION, THEN YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM." Do you agree?

DePsi
